Terms of use

Podcaster is made and run by Finnan Simon in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. By making an account you agree to these terms. Questions go to hello@podcaster.study.

What Podcaster does

Podcaster makes a podcast episode, study notes and practice questions from a reading you drop in, with AI models, for your own study. It is a companion to the reading, not a replacement for it.

Your account

One account per person, with a working email address, and an invite while Podcaster is in development and invite only. You are responsible for what happens under it, so keep the sign-in to yourself. You must be at least 16 to make an account.

What you may upload

Upload only what you have the right to use: your own documents, readings you have lawful access to for your studies, and material whose licence allows it. A subscribed article comes with your library's terms, and many publishers do not permit their content to be uploaded to AI tools, so check before you do. You are responsible for the readings you upload and for what you do with the episodes. Do not upload anything unlawful, and do not use Podcaster to harm anyone.

What you get

The episodes, notes and questions made from your readings are yours to use for your own study. They are for you, not for publishing or selling: the rights in the reading stay with its author and publisher, and an episode is made from that reading. Podcaster publishes nothing. What it made from a reading (the script, the voices, the study material, without your name or anything about you) may go into the same episode made for somebody else who brings the same reading themselves.

Made by AI

Every episode, page of notes and question is made by AI models from the reading you gave them, and each one says so. Models make mistakes: a date, a number, the direction of an effect. Check anything that matters against the source. Podcaster is not responsible for a mark, a decision or a loss that follows from relying on an episode instead of the reading.

Credit

Making an episode uses credit on your account. Credit comes from a code or a top-up. The preview sheet shows the price before you start; pressing the button sets that amount aside, and it leaves your balance when you collect the finished episode, or seven days after it is ready if you have not. An episode that fails costs nothing. Credit is not money: it cannot be withdrawn or transferred and has no cash value. Credit from a top-up that you have not spent is refunded on request within fourteen days of the top-up. Write to hello@podcaster.study if you think a charge is wrong.

Fair use of the service

Podcaster is for people making episodes for themselves. Do not run scripts against it, share an account, or try to get round its limits on file size, episodes per hour and storage. An account that does so can be closed.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time under Account, in the Account panel (Settings in the Mac app); your library goes with it. Nothing is removed for fourteen days, so you can sign in and keep the account during that time. What each episode was charged stays in Podcaster's books, without your name, for seven years, because the tax rules ask for it. Podcaster can close an account that breaks these terms, and can stop the service altogether with thirty days' notice, in which case unspent credit from a top-up is refunded.

Liability

Podcaster is provided as it is. It is not responsible for an episode being unavailable, for a fault in what the AI models produce, or for what you do with the readings you upload. Where the law allows, Podcaster's liability to you is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or a right you have as a consumer that the law does not allow to be limited.

Law

Dutch law applies, and a dispute goes to the court in Amsterdam, unless the law gives you the right to another court.

Changes

When these terms change, the date below changes with it, and a change that matters to you is announced in the app before it applies.

Last changed 26 September 2026.
